Gary Lineker, famous former English footballer, will return to BBC microphones after the suspension he suffered for a publication on his official Twitter profile against the British Government.
Tim Davie, director general of the BBC, highlighted the figure of Lineker: ”Gary is a valuable part of the BBC and I know how much the BBC means to Gary, and I look forward to our coverage next weekend”.
After the ex-soccer player was banned, the English channel was forced to eliminate a large part of its weekend sports programming after Premier League commentators, analysts and players will refuse to appear on the various programs as a show of support for Gary.

Lineker, a television presenter and one of the most praised players in England, was suspended last Friday after showing his rejection of harsh immigration reform posed by the British Government, promoted by the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman: “This is an immensely cruel policy aimed at the most vulnerable people, using a language that is not far from that used by Germany in the 1930s,” said the former soccer player.
Back home
Gary, on his Twitter profile, wanted to thank everyone for their support and, specifically, that of his colleagues, essential for the return of the BBC’s highest paid presenter: ”After a few surreal days, I am delighted that we have navigated this path. I want to thank everyone for the incredible support, particularly my colleagues at BBC Sport, for the remarkable show of solidarity. Soccer is a team game, but their support was overwhelming.”
After a surreal few days, I’m delighted that we have navigated a way through this. I want to thank you all for the incredible support, particularly my colleagues at BBC Sport, for the remarkable show of solidarity. Football is a team game but their backing was overwhelming. 1/4

”I have been presenting sports on the BBC for almost 3 decades and am immensely proud to work with the best and fairest station in the world. I can’t wait to get back in the MOTD chair on Saturday,” Gary stressed.
”One final thought: as difficult as the last few days have been, they simply do not compare to having to flee persecution or war at home to seek refuge in a faraway land. It is touching to have seen the empathy towards his plight by so many of you.”
”We continue to be a predominantly tolerant, welcoming and generous country. Thank you. ❤️”, sentenced the English star.
Also, I’d like to thank Tim Davie for his understanding during this difficult period. He has an almost impossible job keeping everybody happy, particularly in the area of impartiality. I am delighted that we’ll continue to fight the good fight, together.

In closing, Lineker thanked Tim Davie for his understanding during all these days of uncertainty: ”In addition, I would like to thank Tim Davie for his understanding during this difficult period. He has an almost impossible job of keeping everyone happy, particularly in the area of fairness. I am delighted that we will continue to fight the good fight, together.”
