The world of football lives a new tragedy again. Following the information provided by the Servei Català de Trànsit, three underage footballers, belonging to the discipline of CF Camarles, have died in a traffic accident during the afternoon of this past Sunday when they were going to watch the match between CF Pinell and CF Riudarenes ‘B’, from Group 20 of the Fourth Catalan.

The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m. at kilometer 1 of the TV-3022 highway in El Perelló, Tarragona. The car in which the three members of the Catalan team were traveling It plunged down a ravine and began to burn. The fourth member who was driving the vehicle is in critical condition at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona and the next few hours could be key to the patient’s recovery.
After the fatal accident, the road was blocked in both directions after six Mossos patrols, four ambulances and six Generalitat Fire Departments arrived. All three players died on the spot.

Joan Ignasi ElenaMinister of the Interior in Catalonia, has conveyed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and to the entire municipality of Camarles through his social networks: “There is no possible consolation in the face of the tragedy of three deceased teenagers and a seriously injured young man. I want to express my deep condolences, on behalf of the Government and the country, to the families and friends. We are at the disposal of the people of Camarles in these hard times.”
The Catalan football federation, along with a host of clubs from that community, have expressed their sorrow for the loss of the three footballers: ”The Catalan Football Federation wishes to express its most sincere affection for the club American, the families of the soccer players and colleagues, and thanks all the entities and people linked to the world of Catalan soccer who have expressed their condolences at these irreparable losses,” he said in a statement on his website.
